Practical use: | W. anomalusis a biocontrol agent, which can be used in airtight storage of moist grain. W. anomalus consumes O2 (oxygen), which leaks into the silo, thus maintaining an anaerobic environment. In addition, ethyl acetate is produced, which inhibits mold growth. |
